Anyway, Meredith and my dead brother Roger. I didn’t see it happen cuz I was unconscious at the time. That means she controls fire with her mind. He made her burn Officer Flowers alive with her pyrokinesis ability. Really it was Meredith who killed her, under the mind control of Felix. ![]() Her brother Tony blamed me for her death. He’s the brother of Officer Samantha Flowers who died three years ago while trying to save Meredith and me from a crazy weasel man named Felix Clay. She saved me from being stab murdered by the serial killer, Tony Flowers. I summoned her from beyond the grave by mistake when trying to resurrect my dead parents. I last saw her in a blue cat doll named Freddy Lapel that I won from a claw machine at a traveling carnival a few years ago. My name is Lily Madwhip and we are here because I will not rest until I find my friend, Meredith Patterson. As good as "Hole In The World" is, it is indicative of a truly great album to come in early 2004.“Just, like, say your name and tell me why we’re here.” Having been an Eagles fan for 20+ years, I'm still very much enjoying this release, and have watched/listened to it a number of times since I purchased it nearly a month ago. The behind the scenes portion gives the viewer an idea of just how much preparation goes into an Eagles show, and contains some amusing moments from the musicians and crew, as well as a look at many of the technical considerations for just one show-in this case, it was the first show of the tour, in Richmond, Virginia. The video is icing on the cake-the 5.1 mix is particularly stunning. The instrumentation on "Hole" is fairly understated, but that was likely done to allow the moving lyrics to really shine through. Vocally, the song bears some similarity to the group's popular version of Steve Young's "Seven Bridges Road," which appeared on the 'Eagles Live' album in 1980. Schmit are in top form on the beautiful harmonies that carry throughout the track. Penned by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, who wrote so many of the Eagles' classic hits, this song makes a good statement about where we are in society and what we can do to make things better, but does it without being preachy or overbearing. The Eagles have been one of the most influential groups of the 20th century, and their new single, "Hole In The World," is a continuation of that. Just listen to the song, and you'll know why I cried. I applaude The Eagles, for their endearing lyrics, and songwriting expertise. Their song, should also be an anthem for 9/11. And I thank God for all who survived 9/11, and for those who gave their lives to save others. And every year on 9/11, I say a prayer for all the lives lost on that day, and pray for all their families. I am a veteran of the US Air Force, and an Proud American. I was at home on 9/11, and watched it all unfold on TV. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I cried, and played the song over and over. Needless to say, they never went into the studio that day, or for some time after.īut that night, on Sept 11th, the song, Hole In The World was written. He said that the band was supposed to go into the studio on Sept 11th to start work on a new album. On the DVD for The Eagles Farewell Tour #1, Don Henley explains the 'conception' of the song "Hole In The World". Personally, I would have preferred having a bonus live song instead. ![]() By the time I got to the second disc, which is the audio version of the song, I was thinking enough of the same song already! The backstage pass to the Farewell 1 Concert Tour contains footage of the Eagles on the road, making jokes and rehearsing. First there is the video of the song with a 5.1 mix, followed by the same video with a stereo mix, followed by outtakes from the video with an abbreviated version of the song. My problem with this release is its repetitiveness. I especially like how the video ends, as Joe Walsh gives a knowing wink to the camera and unplugs his electric guitar. The video is also very well produced, focusing on the group in the recording studio. It is one of the best sounding songs the Eagles have ever done. ![]() Their harmonizing on "Hole In The World" is reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. ![]() The Eagles are now officially a quartet: Glen Frey, Don Henley, Timothy B.
